“…when you reach an advanced age and look back over your lifetime, it can seem to have had a consistent order and plan, as though composed by some novelist. Events that when they occurred had seemed accidental and of little moment turn out to have been indispensable factors in the composition of a consistent plot. So who composed that plot?”

Joseph Campbell

Thanks for visiting. My site is a compilation of stuff I've made, done and experienced over the past 60-plus years. The Web is probably a good place to keep this record.

My history, the good and the bad, has been a series of lessons from which I’ve learned much. Some lessons have been quite painful.

Nevertheless, there is a purpose in these lessons – how we deal with life's challenges matters.

With the perspective of time, I'm able to see more of the big picture - there's a history, or a plot as Mr. Campbell suggests in the sidebar to the left. Things happen for a reason.

We grow across generations. Fathers teach their sons and daughters who then teach their sons and daughters...and so it goes. I’ve been blessed with wonderful parents and grandparents…good people who have dealt with and learned from their own challenges. Their character and wisdom was always available to me… in many ways. I wish I'd paid more attention.

All of this leads to a profound regret I feel in not knowing my ancestors as real human beings with hopes, dreams, aspirations, and disappointments - all that made them real. I remember nothing about my great grandparents and precious little about my grandparents. I wish I could talk with them now, together or individually, conversing from the perspective of an experienced adult.

I look to my ancestors as the source of who I am and to my heirs as the means by which I might contribute to our generational evolution. To understand ourselves is to understand those from which we come.

In that spirit, I have maintained some of my work on these pages and invite all, especially my children and grandchildren to visit.
